Try Frank!

This page contains the demo created using Frank's human control software.
These are simple demos with demonstrative purposes, created for testing the human.
I recommend to read all the warings at the bottom of this document in order to correctly view the worlds in these page.
Please, wait the loading of the Java classes; before they are loaded, the human will not move and react to the user... so be patient ;)... wait.

Please, note that Frank is not a simple vrml human, but an integrated project that permits the user to include a human in a vrml world and to program it through a high level interface from a Java applet (using EAI).

For a brief description of the project take a look here: What's Frank project?.

Test Frank
This demo give the user the possibility to activate selectively every human's movement.
The majority of the movements were taken by motion capture; the simpler ones were edited by hand.
Good speed!

Guided tour to Bergamo (city near Milan, Italy)
This doesn't want to be a complet tour. It's just a demo to show how the human can be used in order to guide the user through vrml worlds.
I suggest to deactivate Collision Detection in order to avoid slow frame rate.

Penalty
A penalty simulation. Click on Frank to start the animation.

This runs on all vrml browsers

Attention: in order to correctly view the worlds in this page you must have an EAI capable vrml browser. Due to compatibility problems, I suggest you to use Cosmo Player 1.0x. In fact, the EAI is used a lot and the bugs in different versions of CP and other browser can cause some problems.
This software were tested with Cosmo Player 1.0 and Cosmo Player beta3a.

Due to a bug in CP1.0 in this page I can put only the demo where I use only one human. In fact CP1.0 has a bug with nested PROTOS. For these demos (not present yet) you will have to use CP beta3a or another browser.

NB: It has been noted that sometimes a second loading of a world containing the human causes the browser to crash. A new load with a clean browser brings no problems.

NB: In case of crashes during loading, try to load without other applications in background.

Please, report me the bugs you may encounter sending a mail to: ignazio@logicom.it.
